say whaat?

The University of Wisconsin-Madison has been working since the late 40s to study regional dialect in all 50 states, and they finally published their findings a few years ago. It's really fun to look through the different states to see where they conducted interviews and what they found. I'm surprised by some of the regional slang words - I completely took them for granted as normal English! Listen to the audio, too. 

Does anybody else think this is the dreariest winter ever? I'm clinging to anything interesting to distract myself!
